Here at School Without Walls, we set high standards. In 2010 we were the first school in the District to receive the National Blue Ribbon School award. However, we have not rested on this past achievement. In 2012, Newsweek & The Daily Beast listed School Without Walls as one of “America’s Best High Schools.” SWW also made it on The Washington Post’s “2012 High School Challenge” list. We will continue to look for new ways to challenge students and engage our staff in the important mission of making Walls the best of its kind in the DC school community.
Also during the past school year, we implemented a new grading system, using Jupiter Grades, which allows both parents and students to check grades. Our counseling department enhanced our on-line college-readiness program, Naviance, which is available to all students and parents. Links to both portals are on the SWW website.
Stay Up-to-Date on SWW Happenings
Each Sunday evening, expect Walls’ Weekly Bulletin to arrive in your email, delivering the most important events and news from the school. SWW parent Joe Meiers manages the Bulletin. I urge you to sign up for it and make sure we have your correct email address. Please email Joe for instructions.
Support the HSA
The Home and School Association works hard to enhance your experience at Walls. This year, HSA’s goal is to raise $80,000 to help fund numerous programs and resources for our students. Join us on September 10 for this year’s first Walls Family Night, and learn more about how you can support these efforts.
I am honored and proud to be the principal and leader of what I believe to be a very talented and dedicated group of educational professionals and support staff. Parents, your students are in good hands.
Please join me in making the coming months a time of proud achievement for all of us who consider ourselves part of the Walls family.
Mr. Richard Trogisch
