Urgent: Two of our AFS students need new host families

Posted on: February 4th, 2016 by Anastasia Miller

We have an immediate need to find new host families for two Walls exchange students whose current living arrangements have fallen through. Both must find accommodations immediately (in February), and would need to stay with their new host families through the end of their time in-country (June 30, 2016).

  • Shiyu (‘Anna’), 16, is from China. Her friends and family describe her as easygoing, open-minded, positive, generous, and happy. She works hard, adapts well to new situations, and gets along very well with others. Read her story here.
  • Achraf, 17, is from Tunisia. He loves the arts and is fond of history, politics, and international relations. His favorite activity is learning languages (he speaks 7) because it helps him become a global citizen. He also likes spending time with friends, writing, reading, and gardening. Read his profile here.

If you can host a student, please email Amanda Dennen at (adennen [at] afsusa.org) and begin your application. You can find out more about hosting by reading other host families’ personal stories on AFS’ website. For more specific queries you can also read their list of frequently-asked questions.
