SWW Student Creativity Featured at Dept. of Ed

The work of Walls artists and filmmakers was on display at the annual Department of Education Student Art Exhibit Program, which opened on March 4 and closes at the end of April. DC public schools were in the limelight this year, featuring schools with special partnerships, such as ours with GWU.

One of Walls’ contributions is a film, “Scripts and Scores,” produced by students in Jason Bulluck’s Fundamentals of Film classes. The film was conceived as a “partnership” between visual art, music, and film, where each medium enjoyed a balance of creative equity in the development of a final product. At the Dept. of Ed presentation, the students were given a standing ovation!

Another art project supported by Mr. Bulluck and executed by the SWW Solar Sculpture Club is a solar-powered installation of a modern-day scupture based on the famous “singing” Egyptian Colossi of Memnon.

Cheers to sculptors Annie Schillo, Dzhoy Zuckerman, and AnaMarie King and to filmmakers Joshua Mitchell, Muhammad Mohsin, Tosha Skolnik, Javier Bonilla, and Jose Navarro, and a big thank you to Mr. Bulluck!
