SWW Choir at the Kennedy Center

The School Without Walls Senior High School Concert Choir, under the direction of Ms. Joan Moten, performed at the Kennedy Center on Tuesday evening, March 29, for an evening of vocal music presented by the Kennedy Center District of Columbia Partner Schools. Also performing was Wilson Senior High School. The choirs performed a variety of classical, spiritual, jazz and Broadway selections.

Ms. Jeanette S. McCune, assistant director of the School Programs Community Partnerships Division at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, said this about the performances: “Both of [the] concert choir ensembles were outstanding, with the selected repertoire being complementary to your students’ vocal strengths and demonstrating multiple genres. You represented DCPS and the Kennedy Center partnership program very well—congratulations to you and your students.”

The program was streamed live and can be viewed on the Kennedy Center’s website.
