SWW Debate Team Wins 21 Rounds at DC Urban Debate League

SWW 2012-13 Debate TeamSchool Without Walls Debaters did exceptionally well at the DC Urban Debate League’s first high school competition of the school year. Fifty-five debaters from seven public and private high schools participated.

Walls won the following awards:

In the School category:

  • 1st place Sweepstake (this award goes to the School with the highest scoring teams).
  • 1st place Percentage (this award goes to the School with the highest number of wins; 6 Walls teams debated 4 rounds each, for a total of 24 rounds; Walls won 21 of the 24 rounds).

In the Team category:

  • 2nd, 3rd and 5th place Team teams awards.

In the Individual category:

  • 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th place Individual Speaker awards.

The competition was held on Saturday, October 20,  at the Capital City Charter School. The photo above shows the debaters with their awards.
