The School Without Walls Chapter of the National French Honor Society held its first Induction Ceremony on January 13.  Tijani Marou, Harrison Davis, Megan Eigsti, and Rachel Finston discussed the importance of language, mission, membership and goals of the organization to a room overflowing with inductees, parents, siblings, and school teachers and staff.  A total of 31 students were inducted into the National French Honor Society in this ceremony:  5 members from the Class of 2014, 15 members from the Class of 2015 and 11 members from the Class of 2016.   The students carried candles during the ceremony and recited a pledge to uphold the values of the society.

The National Honor Society followed, honoring 5 new members from the Class of 2014 and 43 members from the Class of 2015 (the largest cohort ever from the School Without Walls).  Nicholas Heim, Samantha Kolawole, Sinclair Blue, Delmar Tarrago, Jana Korn, Rachelle Delle Fratte, and Taiwoo Dosunmu spoke on the Significance, Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service and lit ceremonial candles before leading new members in a pledge and a roll call.

A musical selection was provided by Stephanie Guzman, Megan Eigsti, and Eleonore Edgell  on flute.  The keynote speaker, Mr. Mark Ausbrooks, Director of Student Services at Walt Whitman Middle School, challenged the inductees to continue their love of learning and to continue to challenge themselves in high school.  Mr. Trogisch provided the final congratulatory remarks for the evening.
