Summer Program: Delaware State University STARS 2013 Program

(Science and Technology Academy for Residence Scholars)

This program will engage rising 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students in an intensive 4-week exploration of mathematics, science, information technology, and English with SAT preparation activities. The STARS program will be conducted from Sunday June 30th to Saturday, July 27, 2013.

The program is designed to stimulate and extend students’ interest in mathematics, science, and information technology, and to encourage the diverse group of young scholars to investigate a variety of mathematics/science related career options. Investigation of mathematical concepts will be linked with scientific experiments and will be utilized in modeling real life situations with focus on biological and environmental systems. This college-like residential experience will offer a unique blend of technology based hands-on experiments in mathematics and science. High-potential students, particularly minorities, are encouraged to apply.

The application package must be received by Friday, March 15, 2013.

Additional application forms and brochures can be found at our web site. For more information, please contact Mazen Shahin, Ph.D. at STARS@desu.edu.
