The Frederick Douglass Family Foundation will be hosting a ‘Signing Ceremony’ for the New Proclamation of Freedom on Friday, January 11, 2013 starting at 6 pm at the Edmund Burke High School (4101 Connecticut Ave, NW). This event will commemorate the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation as well as the National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. The event is free of charge.
Special guests will include representatives from the US Department of Education, the National Youth Leadership Council as well as direct decendants of both Frederick Douglass and Booker T.
