August 4, 2017:

Eliska Peacock was awarded the honor of being the state flag bearer at the State Games of America 2017 held in Grand Rapids, Michigan!

On August 4, 2017, Eliska represented Washington, DC and carried the flag of the Nation’s Capital into the opening ceremony, where many of the estimated 12,000 competing athletes also paraded in an Olympic style gathering into the Van Andel Arena.  Eliska went on the next day to compete in track and field and brought home 2 gold medals and 2 silver medals.  Eliska also was the flag bearer at the State Games of America 2015, held in Nebraska, where she also competed in track and field events and brought home one gold medal and two silver medals.

You can view a video of Eliska carrying the flag on the State Games of America website. (Start the video and fast forward to 46:20.)
