Dear Prospective Parent & Applicant;

On behalf of the faculty, parents, students and alumni, we welcome you to the School Without Walls Senior High School admissions process.

The District of Columbia Public Schools describes School Without Walls Senior High School as “a demanding college preparatory program that seeks to foster independence and creativity.” SWW is a destination for intellectual inquiry to learn beyond the classroom and to incorporate local and international resources for academic exploration.

Our school serves as a model of high academic performance that prepares students for academic success beyond high school. The Humanities program provides an interdisciplinary core curriculum and challenges students to find personal meaning of their studies, by exploring interrelationships of ideas through primary sources and their contexts. School Without Walls is unique because we embrace diversity in ideas, ethnicity, and culture within the student body.

The school’s course options include Advanced Placement and college courses designed to prepare students for rigorous college level work. Our proven curriculum has produced high SAT scores. Our DC-CAS assessment results for SY 2008 in reading and math are above 90%. School Without Walls students are accepted into the nation’s premier colleges, and our alumni represent a range of careers and professions in the District of Columbia and nationwide.

We currently enroll 460 students from across the District of Columbia in grades 9-12. We returned to our renovated facility located on the campus of George Washington University for the opening of SY 2009. We have a twenty first century facility that helps captures the best of teaching and learning. We integrate and teach the use of technology that is made available to teachers and students during the learning process.  Our facilities are equipped with the latest technology and the best tools to help capture the best of teaching and learning.

Our school administration is available to answer questions you may have concerning admissions for school year 2010 – 2011.  Please feel free to call during our business hours from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.
