The School Without Walls - Washington, DC

DCPS Bridges, Deadline March 21st

DCPS has aquired a new online tool, Bridges, for students and families to review high school requirements, see courses planned and completed, explore career paths, and prepare for college. On March 10, students in grades 9-11 will receive information in their Advisory class about how to select courses for next year. Students will utilize their Individual Graduation Portfolios to update their course plan for next year. Students should complete their course plans by midnight on March 21, 2010. Seniors will receive information about accessing local scholarship opportunities through the same program. "Pathways" of specific activities in Bridges have been outlined for each grade level. Individual Graduation Portfolios in Bridges will be referenced in Advisory classes, but students and families should also explore this tool at home.

To access Bridges, please visit http://dcps.bridges.com. The following documents will guide students and families on how to log on to Bridges and how to complete their online course selections. Please contact a school counselor if you have any questions or require additional support.

Chancellor Is Listening: Office Hours March 11, 6-8pm

DCPS invites you to Chancellor’s Office Hours.

Do you have questions or concerns that you would like to directly discuss with Chancellor Michelle Rhee? If so, she’s ready to listen. Next Thursday, March 11 Chancellor Rhee will host her monthly Office Hours.

Chancellor’s Office Hours provide one-on-one time with the Chancellor for parents and community members. Each participant will have five minutes to talk with the Chancellor.
