Host an International Student

2013-HostInternationalStudent

Join in the tradition of hosting an international student — here are some opportunities:

FLEX:

The Center for International Programs (CIP) is seeking caring, culturally aware, academically motivated households for high school students attending School Without Walls. The FLEX (Future Leaders Exchange) Program is the Department of State’s flagship exchange student program. FLEX students are highly gifted, English-fluent high school students from former Soviet Bloc nations, and are the recipients of an extremely competitive State Department scholarship.

This year’s students arrive at the end of the month. As that time is approaching quickly, please call Max O’Hern at (301)-986-8008, or email us at flex@internationalprograms.org as soon as possible if you would like to participate in this exciting opportunity!

AFS:

This week is a big week for the AFS-USA community. Students from around the world are boarding trains, planes and buses, all heading towards their new homes for the next year.
Host families are eagerly awaiting their arrival, imagining the cultural insight they will share and gain, and wondering what else the coming year has in store.
This buzz of excitement has been felt by AFS-USA host families and students for over 65 years.
