January was a winning month for the Walls debate team! At the Jan. 17 debate tournament of the Washington-Arlington Catholic Forensic League Public Forum, students from 18 regional schools debated the topic, “Resolved: UN peacekeepers should have the power to engage in offensive operations.” Seven Walls teams competed including:

  • Mahler Revsine and Noa RosinPlot placed 1st at the Varsity level out of 36 teams.
  • Nathan Ausubel and Brett Isaacs placed 2nd at the Varsity level.
  • Jack Nugent and Ay Okyleye placed 1st at the Junior Varsity level out of 43 teams.
  • Sam Page and Atalanta Ritter placed 5th at the Novice level out of 27 teams.

There are two more tournaments this school year. If Walls continues to perform well, there’s a good chance the team will qualify to go to the national tournament. Bravo, debaters–we’re proud of you!
