Bringing the Ancient World into the Classroom

mesopotamian_artIn October, students in Carolyn Schulz’s Humanities class participated in an exciting virtual exchange with students at Sagesse High School in Beirut, Lebanon, via webcast. Moderating was Dr. Catherine Foster, an archeologist who specializes in Mesopotamia and works for the State Department’s Cultural Preservation Center.

Students from both schools learned about her work and had an opportunity to ask questions about how archeological findings in the region inform our modern-day understanding of Mesopotamian culture.
