Buy a book or two and support Walls! On Sunday, April 17th, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Politics and Prose Bookstore (5015 Connecticut Ave., NW) will donate 20% of your purchase to the School Without Walls HSA.

  • When you check out at the register, simply mention “School Without Walls” and the HSA will get the credit.

Politics and Prose has a newly-renovated cafe, a sale area, and lots of current (and discount!) books for people of all ages and tastes. You can also buy books from the teachers’ wish list — titles that teachers would like for professional development and for the classroom and/or the library, so that additional resources can be available for faculty and all students.

If you are interested in helping staff Walls’ welcome table for a hour that day (while relaxing with a book, a coffee, and another Walls parental unit/friend or two), please contact Tracey Duffles-Andrade at

What a great way to encourage a love of books and learning, support Walls students, and help a wonderful local independent bookstore! Thanks, and happy reading!
