On Friday, September 17, 2010, Assistant Principal Lauren Deitz received great news from the College Board. Twenty-four School Without Walls students qualified for 2010 AP Scholar Awards. SWW had 13 AP Scholars (scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams), 7 AP Scholars with Honor (average score of at least 3.25 on all exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more exams), and 4 AP Scholars with Distinction (average score of at least
3.5 on all exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams). Of these 24 students, six are current seniors who can continue to earn AP Scholar Awards this year.

There are nine AP Scholar Awards in total; SWW students could potentially qualify for five of them. The others are designated to students in Canada, Bermuda, Department of Defense schools, and international schools. Our students received honors in three of the possible five categories. Categories with no scholars: State AP Scholar (one male and one female student in each state with scores of 3 or higher on the greatest number of AP exams, and then, the highest average score on all exams taken); National AP Scholar (average score of at least 4 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.)
