Lesley, Diane

Subject: School Psychologist

Ms. Lesley, a native of Detroit, is excited to be the school psychologist for School Without Walls.  She serves students in both SWW locations, pre-K through 12th grade. Before coming to DCPS in 2011, Ms. Lesley worked as a school psychologist in the Detroit Public Schools and Cobb County (GA) Public Schools.

Ms. Lesley earned her M.A. in School and Community Psychology from Wayne State University. She achieved Nationally Certified School Psychologist status in 2006. Ms. Lesley’s favorite thing about being a school psychologist is working with students to help them learn new skills to reach their full potential. Before becoming a school psychologist, Ms. Lesley was a computer systems analyst.

Ms. Lesley enjoys many different activities. She loves to read, go to the movies, and listen to straight-ahead jazz. When she was younger, Ms. Lesley was the lead singer in a jazz band. She also loves taking long walks and rollerblading.  An earlier hobby was learning to read ancient Egyptian (Kemet) hieroglyphics. She enjoys going to museums to read the inscriptions on Egyptian displays. Sadly, she reports that her skills in this area have become very rusty.
