2013 Student Oratorical Contest for Black History MonthThe Government Accountability Office (GAO) is pleased to announce the 2013 Student Black History Month Contest. Students will conduct theme-based research and submit a double-spaced typewritten essay of 700-1,000 words by close of business Wednesday, February 13, 2013. The essays MUST be orally presented in 4-6 minutes before a panel of judges in a private preliminary competition on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 8:30 am to noon and if selected for the top five, at a final competition on Wednesday, February 27, 2012 before a live audience from noon-3:30 pm. Each in-person competition will be held at the GAO building located at 441 G Street, NW, Washington, DC 20548. The top prize is $1,000 and all finalists will receive cash awards.
